Incompetance

The SLC have been renamed. Instead of the Student Loans Company, they are now the Stupid Loans Company, or any other derogatory word beginning with S that you want to insert. Don't get me started on what I'm renaming Student Finance Direct...

I'd expected, as every student does, to receive the forms that tell me how much I have to pay for tuition fees, how much loan I'm getting, etc. before now. Way before now. After all, I'm going back to uni in 2 weeks time and I'd struggle to re-register without said forms. Having given them plenty of time to send them to me, only for them not to, I was severely starting to panic. So yesterday I finally rang them.

First up, I find that they haven't sent me some 'secret answer' thing that I need to be able to identify myself to them. So they have to ask me about 15 questions, going through practically every bit of information I've provided them (full name, address, postcode, telephone number, mobile number, date of birth, father's name and address, grandfather's name and address, etc. etc. etc.) until they're satisfid I'm not some body-snatching alien trying to get hold of my financil details.

Then when I finally do get it through to them that I'm me, I find that they've somehow managed to confuse my home address and term-time address and send all the information there. I had planned on spending today getting some of the vast amounts of uni work that I've not done yet completed. Instead, I have to treck to Chichester to make sure that they've definitely arrived. And if they haven't, I get to call them back and do the questions all over again...

Not impressed. Thank God this is the final year I have to do this...
